Mar 10, 2016 – Over a three year period Prestasi Junior Indonesia will be visiting elementary schools in 12 cities of Indonesia introducing a digital based financial literacy program. This project, known as Anak Cerdas, will engage up to 11,000 young Indonesians and multiple volunteers from HSBC and Bank Ekonomi. An integral component of this undertaking is the gradual implementation of blended learning using JA Worldwide programs such as JA Ourselves, JA Our Community, and JA Our City. Working with the support of HSBC Prestasi Junior will emphasise the important financial literacy components and mobilise volunteers in support of student learning. In fact, the Saturday 5 March engagement involved 42 volunteers from both HSBC and Bank Ekonomi in support of student learning in a Surabaya school catering for children from marginalised backgrounds.
HSBC has also invited students to the bank’s headquarters in Jakarta and taught programs on site. The photos below show students involved in Anak Cerdas at the HSBC HQ in Jakarta.
