May 7, 2018 – A group of four students from SMA Plus Pembangunan Jaya had a golden opportunity to pursue higher education in the United States through the ‘IUA-JA Excellence Scholarship’. The four students are Anak Agung Ayu Arini Azhalia, Alyssa Malinda Putri, Balqis Sabita Khalila, and Zahra Zhafira Andalusia. The scholarship was awarded for their outstanding achievement in winning the 2018 Junior Achievement (JA) Asia Pacific Company of the Year Competition in Beijing, China.

This scholarship program is a collaboration between the International University Alliance (IUA) and Junior Achievement (JA) that is committed to providing greater access to educational opportunities for Indonesian students and also inspiring cross-cultural exchanges among youth around the world. Each student will receive a scholarship with a total value of up to USD 60,000 for 4 years. They can also select the educational programs at a number of top universities in the United States, such as University of Illinois at Chicago, Adelphi University, University of the Pacific, University of Dayton, and University of Kansas.

This scholarship is an appreciation for the hard work of these young women entrepreneurs in developing a fantastic business and winning the Asia Pacific Regional competition. This momentum provides a golden opportunity for them to achieve a brighter future while expanding their business into the global market.
