Aug 25, 2019 – Four students from SMAN 4 Denpasar, accompanied by PJI’s very own Jaya, travelled to Shanghai to participate in the 2019 Belt and Road Entrepreneurship Summit over the period of 20 -25 August. The Summit involved representatives from ten JA operations located in Asia and Europe, including China, and provided opportunities for young people to meet and understand their peers from other nations. Students had the opportunity to travel to business operations in Shanghai such as the world’s largest travel and tourism business. They were also able to set up their own businesses at a trade fair. The Balinese team were able to display and sell their innovative shoe designs to inquisitive visitors. All students attending the event were involved in a competitive Youth Entrepreneurship Award which was organized by splitting individuals from each country into separate teams. The winning team was known as Eight-Cellent and was made up of students from Indonesia, Korea, and China. Dea, the Zeal Student Company President from Denpasar was part of this winning team. This was a great experience for our Indonesian Youth and, hopefully, opportunities will exist for similar undertakings in the future. Thanks JA China for organizing this event and PT Triputra Agro Persada for supporting travel requirements.
