Sep 18, 2020 – The world’s leading thought leadership event on CSR – The Global CSR Awards and the Good Governance Awards – has recently released its 2020 results. Some 300 entries were received from 120 companies. Prestasi Junior Indonesia’s collaboration with Prudential Indonesia constituted two of these entries and we won two awards!
Working with the great volunteers at Prudential Indonesia the Chairman’s Challenges initiatives focusing on social inclusion and disaster preparedness in West Java Province earned the corporation a bronze in the Best Community Program Award. Prestasi Junior has worked with Prudential over 12 years to implement impactful community-based programs which have mobilized thousands of volunteers. With funding from Prudential plc, we support the well-being of communities with limited resources through a carefully managed sustainable engagement. For example, in the village of Mulyasari we were able to provide electricity through the installation of 40+ solar panels. This proved beneficial for many villagers and enabled children, who are now matriculating at the school we built, to study without difficulty during evenings.
In addition, the innovative Cha Ching Curriculum initiation which focuses on financial literacy education for students studying at elementary school level was also awarded a bronze in the Excellence in Provision for Literacy and Education Award. Prestasi Junior first piloted this initiative in the Regency of Sidoarjo in East Java during 2017 and has driven its growth and expansion into other locations involving some 150,000 young beneficiaries in both East Java and every state elementary school located in the province of DKI Jakarta. The Cha Ching Curriculum, developed by the Prudence Foundation, is always received by 3rd graders with great excitement. Each student becomes immersed within a learning experience which is both engaging and impactful. As a result of the success in Indonesia the Cha Ching Curriculum has expanded to other nations in the region.
The team at Prestasi Junior Indonesia is extremely pleased to be a part of these successful CSR initiatives together with our partner Prudential Indonesia. The awards recognise two quite different community engagements however each has had a significant positive impact on a large number of beneficiaries. We will continue to strive to create and mobilize exceptional community empowerment initiatives across Indonesia with the support of our wonderful corporate partners.
