Nov 25, 2023 – A fantastic experience unfolded for high school representatives from 15 schools in the province of West Java on 25 November. Each of these student teams participated in a STEAM Innovation Festival supported by Amazon Web Services Indonesia. They were required to present a technology innovation addressing challenges within their communities. A panel of judges evaluated the presentations, prototypes, and engaged students in insightful discussions about their innovations. The STEAM InFest played a crucial role in enhancing students’ and teachers’ understanding of the practical application of digital technology.

During the event, Mr. Iendra Sofyan, the Head of the West Java Province Planning Board, acknowledged its significant value to students. AWS and PJI are collaboratively working to address challenges faced by the provincial government in fostering digital competencies among youth, preparing them for the demands of a 4.0 workforce or 5.0 society. Many of the innovative ideas presented showed compatibility with the development of small business enterprises.

The highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding technology ideas and prototypes developed by the students. The exemplary teams honored by the judges were:

First Runner Up: Team Vijandra Deepa from SMAN 14 Bandung
Second Runner Up: Team Dream Weaver from SMA BPI 1 Bandung
Sustainable Innovation Award: Team Larf from SMAN 5 Bogor
The Most Creative Project Award: Team Tazaskar from SMAN 2 Cibinong
Public Choice Award: Team Tazaskar from SMAN 2 Cibinong
