Indonesian Students Tackle Global Trade and Sustainability in 2025 ITC Challenge Indonesia Finals

Jun 14, 2025 – The International Trade Challenge (ITC) is back for its fifth year in Indonesia, continuing its mission to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking and global awareness among youth. A collaborative initiative by Junior Achievement Asia Pacific and FedEx Express, ITC equips high school and vocational students with the tools they need to succeed in the international business landscape.

This year, 330 students from 65 schools across Indonesia took part in a series of expert-led workshops designed to introduce them to the fast-paced world of international trade. From market research to logistics, students explored key concepts that will help them grow into globally competent professionals who can contribute meaningfully to economic progress.

In 2025, the challenge raised the bar with a pressing issue of fast fashion waste. Students were tasked to create a market entry strategy for an eco-friendly product that reduces returns-related fashion waste with China as their target market. This required teams to think critically, integrate sustainability into product design, and develop market-ready solutions that reflect real-world considerations.

Out of 165 teams, a top 10 emerged after a highly competitive assessment process. These finalists are now presenting their innovative strategies at the ITC Indonesia National Finals, showcasing bold ideas that merge environmental responsibility with business potential.

By the end of the event, six standout students from the three best teams will be selected to represent Indonesia at the Asia Pacific Finals in Singapore this August 2026. There, they will join peers from across the region, share ideas, and further develop their business concepts on a global stage — proving that young minds can drive the future of sustainable trade.
