Nov 19, 2015 – With the support of HSBC the team from PJI have put together an initiative which will benefit up to 12,000 students over a period of three years. This strategy will involve the implementation of blended learning programs using the JA Ourselves, JA Our Community, and JA Our City series of lessons at three elementary school levels. Schools in Medan, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Jogjakarta, Surabaya, Denpasar, Balikpapan, Pontianak, Manado, and Makassar will have an opportunity to engage students in learning which focuses on financial literacy and uses digital strategies and tools. The JA programs are currently being adapted to be delivered via student operated tablets and classroom routers. Our intention is to bring this experience to students matriculating at poorly resourced schools and to, not only provide an education in financial literacy, but also introduce young people to innovative learning experiences. Of course, teachers will also be introduced to the curriculum and teaching methodology which, we believe, will encourage them to continue to be increasingly more innovative in teaching style in the future.
