Mar 16, 2020 – Every year, the team from Prestasi Junior is impressed bythe quality of student company teams and their products. This year is no exception and, it seems, the professionalism of these young entrepreneurs has surpassed anything we have seen in the past. A total of 25 teams from Denpasar, Surabaya, Sidoarjo, Bandung, Semarang and Jakarta, supported by Citi Indonesia and the Citi Foundation, have shown confidence and enthusiasm at the beginning of their business operations. In addition, 12 teams from Batam and Cileungsi supported by the Caterpillar Foundation are also excelling at the task of establishing and operating their own businesses. Without any doubt, innovation and creativity is embedded within product design and marketing – and, at the same time, incorporating a comprehensive utilization of social media. A very wide range of products or services are offered this year and potentials for achieving a significant profit are high.
Over the last several weeks Prestasi Junior has initiated remote learning for students engaged in company operations across the nation. Utilizing Zoom we have been able to maintain momentum of the mini-enterprises and, using the opportunity to connect business volunteers (who are also working from home) with students, we have been able to provide additional support. These on-line sessions are sometimes augmented by materials derived from the HP Life library of courses. If you are willing to interact as volunteers and share your experiences that can help these high school students build their businesses, please don’t hesitate to connect with us through: www.prestasijunior.org/get-involved/volunteer/.
