Jan 27, 2023 – Working with OCBC NISP we have had the opportunity to engage with 200 Grade 10 students from State High School 8 Jakarta in fun financial literacy activities in January. This undertaking, known as the OCBC NISP Financial EducatiON program, requires students to participate in a board game as a group and simulate real world financial decision making. Each student is required to confront challenges involving earning, spending, and saving and make decisions which support solvency yet provide for a good quality of life. The PJI team, joined by Mr. Fachri Adriansyah (as Brand & Communication Sr. Manager) from OCBC NISP, were impressed with the level of enthusiasm exhibited by students as they sought to achieve successful results. A massive benefit from this initiative is the real-time interaction the students face with each other (in groups of ten) when playing this ‘monopoly-style’ game. This manifests a competitive edge and exhorts students to seriously analyze and make decisions to better their peers whilst having fun. Thank you OCBC NISP for providing young Indonesians with the experience of learning about money management via an ‘old-school’ board game strategy. Students are really benefitting from this experience.
