Mar 18, 2023 – Prestasi Junior Indonesia was very happy to be able to stage our Company of the Year Competition in person at Kota Kasablanka Mall on Saturday 18th March. For three years this event has been conducted on-line and to have students interacting directly with customers, judges, and each other was a massive change for the better in 2023. Each of the nine business entities set up their enterprises and sold products to customers at the busy mall. Representatives of these student run businesses were able to meet with judges face-to-face and provide comprehensive information about their business operations as part of the assessment process. Needless to say, the event was extremely competitive as each team vied for the position of the best high school-based business operation in Indonesia. These businesses were supported throughout development over a period of up to six months by Zurich Indonesia, Starbucks, Combiphar & OBH Combi, AIG, MMC, and Cikarang Listrindo and representatives were in attendance to engage and support teams. PJI was very pleased to mobilize ten high level judges from the world of commerce in Indonesia to provide feedback and, ultimately, assess business performance based on a wide range of criteria. The winning team is provided with the opportunity to represent the country at the Asia Pacific Company of the Year Competition in New Delhi over the period May 29 – June 3. So, after an intensive day of presentations, interviews, and review of business performance the following signature awards and top three were announced:
Signature Awards:
The Best Financial Management: Aruna SC from SMAN 3 Semarang supported by Combiphar & OBH Combi
Product of the Year: Ajesco SC from SMA IAS Al-Jannah, Depok supported by Marsh & McLennan Indonesia
Young Entrepreneurs’ Choice Award: Mokama SC from SMA HelloMotion supported by AIG
Company of the Year Awards:
Winner: Sievasco SC from SMAN 81 Jakarta supported by Combiphar & OBH Combi
1st Runner Up: Kolibrates SC from SMA Karangturi Semarang supported by Starbucks
2nd Runner Up: Crystalone SC from SMAN 1 Bandung supported by Zurich Indonesia
On behalf of the many students who have benefitted from this experience we wish to thank the six business partners who have invested in building the capacities of young Indonesians for entry in the world of business.
Each member of the jury panel committed something like 12 hours of their time during Saturday to engage with students from each of the companies and assess performance. Without their engagement the event would not have been possible. Therefore, it is necessary to acknowledge the important role they play in this process as they invest their time in the future of Indonesia. Thank you judges!
