CCFA National Conference 2025: Empowering Teachers in Financial Literacy

Feb 15, 2025 – The CCFA National Conference 2025 successfully took place at Mercure Jakarta Batavia Hotel, Jakarta, bringing together 100 teachers from 14 cities/regencies across Indonesia in a professional development forum. As part of the Cha-Ching Financial Accreditation (CCFA) initiative developed by Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI) in collaboration with Prudence Foundation and Prudential Indonesia, this conference aimed to enhance teachers’ capacity to understand and deliver financial literacy education to students.

Since 2017, the Cha-Ching Curriculum financial literacy education program has benefited over 775,000 elementary school students and more than 23,000 teachers in 57 cities/regencies across Indonesia. By focusing on four fundamental financial management concepts—earning, saving, spending, and donating—the program has successfully increased students’ understanding of financial management by an average of 14%.

This year’s conference adopted the theme “Financial Wellness: Family Talks, Financial Health Check, and Planning for the Future”, emphasizing the importance of financial awareness and effective financial communication within families to achieve long-term financial stability. Throughout the event, teachers engaged in inspirational sessions, interactive workshops, and panel discussions. These activities aimed to enhance their financial literacy knowledge, provide them with practical tools for assessing their financial health, and encourage collaboration through professional networking. Teachers from various regions shared best practices, exchanged experiences, and built a professional ecosystem to sustain the impact of the Cha-Ching Curriculum program.

One of the key components of the conference was the Money Talks sessions, which featured four expert-led discussions on different aspects of financial literacy.

The first session, “Empowering Sustainable Financial Education”, was presented by Nina Purnamasari, M.Ak, a Curriculum Development Expert from the Center for Curriculum and Learning at the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. She highlighted the significance of integrating financial literacy into the national education framework and shared strategies for sustainable financial education. This session reinforced the role of teachers in shaping students’ financial habits from an early age.

In the second session, “Managing Money Wisely, Harmonizing Rational and Emotional Decisions in Family Finance”, Roslina Verauli, a Clinical Psychologist specializing in children, adolescents, and families, explored the psychological aspects of financial decision-making. She emphasized how emotions influence spending and saving habits and provided practical approaches for teachers to balance rational and emotional considerations in managing family finances.

The third session, “Mastering Financial Wellness: A Guide for Teachers to Assess and Improve Their Finances”, was led by Nurmalanita Wibowo, Senior Vice President at PT Samuel Aset Manajemen. This session focused on equipping teachers with essential financial planning skills. Participants received a step-by-step guide to assessing their financial health and developing strategies for long-term financial stability. Teachers learned how to evaluate their current financial standing and implement better money management practices.

The final session, “Dream, Plan, Achieve – Building Family Financial Freedom and Stability”, was delivered by Aliyah Natasya, CEO & Founder of DNA Finance. She encouraged teachers to adopt a long-term perspective on financial planning. The discussion covered goal-setting, investment strategies, and financial discipline, helping participants understand how to achieve financial freedom and stability for their families.

The success of the CCFA National Conference 2025 reinforces PJI’s commitment to strengthening teachers’ capacity as agents of change in financial literacy. With a deeper understanding of the rational and emotional aspects of money management, teachers are now better equipped to manage and communicate financial matters within their families and educate students with essential financial skills.
