JA RAISE: Building Indonesia’s Future Innovators Through STEM Readiness

Dec 20, 2025 Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI), in collaboration with Caterpillar Foundation, continues to strengthen its long-term commitment to preparing Indonesian youth for the future of work through JA RAISE, a future-ready STEM education initiative.

The program begins by strengthening teachers’ competencies in delivering STEM curriculum, particularly in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), to ensure effective and sustainable implementation within school environments.

In 2025, the program has reached more than 1,500 senior high school and vocational students (SMA/SMK) from 25 schools in Riau Island Province and Bogor Regency, equipping them not only to understand technology, but also to apply it in solving real-world challenges. Through hands-on learning in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics, students are encouraged to transform creativity, logic, and curiosity into meaningful innovation.

Empowering Future-Ready Indonesian Youth through STEM Bootcamp

The culmination of this year’s JA RAISE program, STEM Bootcamp was held in two locations – in Batam on 13 December 2025 and Bogor on 20 December 2025. Across both events, 25 student teams have demonstrated how creativity, logic, and curiosity can create impactful solutions.

Students also integrated AI and Robotics into their solutions ranging from smart attendance systems, automated waste-sorting detection tools, to assistive smart glasses for the visually impaired.

At the conclusion of each regional event, SMAN 20 Batam and SMA Muhammadiyah Cileungsi were announced as the winners of the JA RAISE STEM Bootcamp in their respective regions, recognizing their exceptional problem-solving approaches and effective application of AI and robotics technologies.

A Growing National and Global Learning Ecosystem

JA RAISE is also part of a broader national and international learning ecosystem.  Globally, the program is connected to learning networks in Singapore, Thailand, China, and Japan. This positions Indonesian students not only to compete nationally, but able to grow within a global learning community.

This program reflects the long-term commitment of Prestasi Junior Indonesia and the Caterpillar Foundation to continuously invest in developing future-ready skills among Indonesian youth, ensuring that young people across the country are equipped with relevant, competitive, and sustainable competencies to navigate the evolving world of work.
